The trabecular microstructure of normal lunates and lunates with Kienböck's disease was investigated using micro-computed tomography (micro-CT). Five lunates with advanced Kienböck's disease were obtained during lunate excision and scaphocapitate fusion, and five control lunates were from embalmed cadavers.
